About Sallee Sound

Independent audio post-production with experience behind it.

Sallee Sound is an independent audio production and post-production company founded by audio engineer, composer and educator Richard J Edwards.

Richard brings more than 20 years of experience across music production, composition, recording, mixing, live performance and education.

His work has included projects such as Stuck, Black Men’s Minds, Tough Blood, This Is Your History, The Healing Power of Music, Stories of the World, Snowball and Asking For It, alongside professional work connected with venues and events including the Royal Albert Hall, Symphony Hall Birmingham, the Palace Theatre Manchester and the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.

Alongside his professional work, Richard has also worked in education, teaching music production, recording, mixing, mastering, sound design and audio technology at university level.

That combination of creative, technical and educational experience shapes the way Sallee Sound works today: clear communication, careful listening and sound that supports the story rather than competing with it.

Sallee Sound works primarily across film, documentary and other screen-based projects, with a flexible approach that can expand through trusted specialist collaborators when required.

The approach

Sound built around the story.

Every project is different, but the principle remains the same: understand what the production needs, then make the sound serve it.
